Wine Enthusiast Magazine online just published a cool article on Music and Wine Collaborations. Wines That Rock is happy to be at the top of the list!
Here is an excerpt:
It’s an unwritten rule that a successful party requires alcohol and a great soundtrack. But who knew that so many musicians (specifically those in the rock n’roll category) have a hand in wine production? Here are ten wine and rock pairings that may surprise you:
1. Wines That Rock, the brain child of rock business managers RZO and Mendocino Wine Company, has three wines in release that were inspired by iconic classic rock recordings:
- Pink Floyd’s The Dark Side of the Moon Cabernet Sauvignon
- The Rolling Stones’ Forty Licks Merlot
- and Woodstock Chardonnay
According to winemaker Mark Beaman, “With Wines That Rock our focus is to combine these two sensory based experiences into a meaningful sum that is greater than its parts. Think of it as a sort of audio aromatherapy.”
He article goes on to discuss severl other Music and Wine collaborations. Check out the full article here.
Thanks Wine Enthusiast Magazine!! Hail Hail Rock 'n Roll!
Our buddy Geir over at 'The Spirit of Wine' - Nesconset Liquor shop just sent us this killer Radio spot for WTR. Give it a listen! Thanks Geir
Hello Pittsburgh
So we just got back from our quick trip to Pittsburgh. The folks over at Ditka's Restaurant hosted a Wines That Rock party this past Friday night and it was really a great event. The Chefs at Ditka's created some great appetizers & dishes and paired them with Wines That Rock.
In addition, DVE the local Rock Radio Station in Pittsburgh jammed out the tunes during the event. It was a classic food, music & wine pairing. We met lots of great people, drank some great wine, ate amazing food, and listened to some classic music. A Rocking good time in Pittsburgh!

Special thanks to our friend Michelle Michaels over a DVE. As soon as we got into town we stopped by the station and did a fun radio interview. Have a listen to Howard chatting it up with the folks at DVE.
The first of three events featured our Pink Floyd Cabernet. In the coming months, Ditka's has two upcoming events in July and August.
July 23 will feature the Rolling Stones 40 Licks Merlot and then in August 27th, Ditka's hosts the third Wines That Rock event featuring the Woodstock Chardonnay. Both upcoming events Ditka's restaurant will feature classic pairings of food, wine and music and you should make it a point to get over there for these events.

The Daily Sip has just made Wines That Rock it's Wine of the Week.
Amongst our favorite quotes from the article are:
The Dark Side of the Moon Cab struck the biggest chord with us at The Daily Sip™. It’s round and full, with flavors of blackberry, cassis and a touch of oak. After a couple glasses you’ll be singing “Money!” as you refill.
AND
If you’re really a die hard, tee up the Wizard of Oz, and uncork that bottle of The Dark Side of the Moon after the third roar of the lion. - WE LOVE THAT!!!

...Bono, The Edge, and Mick Jagger were among those who couldn’t get enough of a Dark Side of the Moon Cabernet Sauvignon, Rolling Stones Forty Licks Merlot, and a Woodstock Chardonnay. This is a great idea that someone should have thought of a long time ago: the wines come from the award winning Mendocino Wine Company with beautiful labels and the real stuff inside. Delicious.
"these are no mere novelty acts: I indulged in Forty Licks Merlot on Thanksgiving, and it went down like cherries and cinnamon; the Woodstock Chardonnay had the mineral, fruity brightness of liquid sunshine. I haven’t uncorked the Dark Side of the Moon yet, but I’m thinking I’ll have to cue it up with a Wizard of Oz screening"
