Costco Rocks Labor Day with Two Long Island Wine Tastings
People of New York-- don't let Hurricane Earl get you down! Come celebrate the last days of summer with wine tastings at two Long Island Costcos this Friday. We will be at both Holbrook & Westbury Locations in Long Island. Stay safe, avoid the hurricane, listen to music, and drink great wine, all to celebrate the last days of summer.
As you walk through the doors of Holbrook Liquors, you will be blown away by the sheer volume of wine and musical awesomeness that Wines That Rock and Holbrook Liquors have cooked up for your rainy Friday afternoon. Truly, this must be seen to be believed. A WALL of Wines that Rock!

Costco is ready to get its rock 'n roll on...as in Wines That Rock. We are very excited to announce our first Wine Tasting of Wines That Rock at Costco! Come out and taste these 3, award-winning, critically acclaimed varietals;
- The Rolling Stones Forty Licks Merlot
- Pink Floyd's The Dark Side of the Moon Cabernet Sauvignon
- Woodstock Chardonnay
It's Only Rock 'n Roll like WTR can do it!
While some wine companies pair wine & cheese, Wines That Rock pairs music & wine. But not just any music, not just any wine.
With the music of the Rolling Stones, Pink Floyd and Woodstock echoing through your favorite Costco locations (*loudly), the Wines That Rock team will be on hand to taste through the Wines and meet the good folks of Long Island. It's the Rock ‘n Roll Wine Event & the tastings are FREE.

OK Wines that Rock Fans, check out this fun little story.
So, we heard it through the grape vine (sorry about that) that Derek Trucks of The Allman Brothers Band and The Derek Trucks Band - sighted up Wines That Rock and loved it...

As soon as we heard that, we shipped Derek and the Band out a little care package. Cheers Derek (and band)! We are big fans over here at the Wines That Rock headquarters. We’ve been grooving to the new Album Roadsongs all week.

Do yourself a favor and give it a listen. They have the whole thing streaming for free on their site. |
If you’ve never heard any of their music, get on this! Derek has been called "the most awe-inspiring electric slide guitar player performing today"
Nuff Respect to Derek Trucks Band!
Cheers

Wine Enthusiast Magazine online just published a cool article on Music and Wine Collaborations. Wines That Rock is happy to be at the top of the list!
Here is an excerpt:
It’s an unwritten rule that a successful party requires alcohol and a great soundtrack. But who knew that so many musicians (specifically those in the rock n’roll category) have a hand in wine production? Here are ten wine and rock pairings that may surprise you:
1. Wines That Rock, the brain child of rock business managers RZO and Mendocino Wine Company, has three wines in release that were inspired by iconic classic rock recordings:
- Pink Floyd’s The Dark Side of the Moon Cabernet Sauvignon
- The Rolling Stones’ Forty Licks Merlot
- and Woodstock Chardonnay
According to winemaker Mark Beaman, “With Wines That Rock our focus is to combine these two sensory based experiences into a meaningful sum that is greater than its parts. Think of it as a sort of audio aromatherapy.”
He article goes on to discuss severl other Music and Wine collaborations. Check out the full article here.
Thanks Wine Enthusiast Magazine!! Hail Hail Rock 'n Roll!

"I just threw a party last week and a Spec's wine specialist recommended The Wines That Rock as a cool party wine, but also he told me that these wines would exceed my expectations in quality as well. I was mildly skeptical, but I took him at his word and man HE WAS RIGHT! The Forty Licks Merlot and Woodstock Chardonnay were a Mega Hit! Thank You Spec's and Wines That Rock."
- Ron Keever, Woodlands TX
Thanks to Specs in Texas for recomending the wines and to Ron for sharing his experience. DO TRY THIS AT HOME!

Our buddy Geir over at 'The Spirit of Wine' - Nesconset Liquor shop just sent us this killer Radio spot for WTR. Give it a listen! Thanks Geir
Hello Pittsburgh
So we just got back from our quick trip to Pittsburgh. The folks over at Ditka's Restaurant hosted a Wines That Rock party this past Friday night and it was really a great event. The Chefs at Ditka's created some great appetizers & dishes and paired them with Wines That Rock.
In addition, DVE the local Rock Radio Station in Pittsburgh jammed out the tunes during the event. It was a classic food, music & wine pairing. We met lots of great people, drank some great wine, ate amazing food, and listened to some classic music. A Rocking good time in Pittsburgh!

Special thanks to our friend Michelle Michaels over a DVE. As soon as we got into town we stopped by the station and did a fun radio interview. Have a listen to Howard chatting it up with the folks at DVE.
The first of three events featured our Pink Floyd Cabernet. In the coming months, Ditka's has two upcoming events in July and August.
July 23 will feature the Rolling Stones 40 Licks Merlot and then in August 27th, Ditka's hosts the third Wines That Rock event featuring the Woodstock Chardonnay. Both upcoming events Ditka's restaurant will feature classic pairings of food, wine and music and you should make it a point to get over there for these events.
